Due to the pandemic measures, students were deprived of cultural stimuli as field visits were put on hold. The Archive 2 ALive project is set within this context. Opportunities to create rich learning experiences were developed using open access digital resources held by public archives,
Digital archive platforms such as Archive.org have exceptionally interesting materials, but have not received much attention, despite the fact that they have been online for many years.
In recent times there has been a greater need for civic participation, democratic values and social inclusion, due to daily incidents of racism, discrimination and prejudice. Environmental awareness is the most important concern of young people, due to the alarming effects of climate change.
The Archive 2 ALive project has provided students with an alternative when field visits cannot be taken. The project turned the spotlight towards interesting but neglected platforms and it raised awareness on inclusion and environment through its contest.
